Life Coaching and
therapy: Two different approaches
Life coaching
is not therapy.
In traditional therapy, the practitioner uses a therapeutic
model that concentrates on your past in order to understand
and resolve psychological issues.
Life coaching
is focuses on the present to create specific goals,
action plans and strategies that address short- and
long-term challenges. In life coaching, the past is
not revisited using a therapeutic model.
During your
coaching sessions with LisaAnn, you might explore parts of
your past to better understand how established patterns are
preventing you from living from the best version of
yourself. However the objective is not to resolve past
psychological issues; instead, you will be working to
break out of the automatic patterns that prevent you from
living each moment to your fullest potential.
Therapy is an
important healing process, and you may find it valuable as
you continue on your journey. Coaching and therapy can
be coordinated so that coaching provides an
additional support to the therapeutic process.
